Devlog - March 2026

Welcome to another monthly devlog, this one covering what we’ve been up to throughout the month of February. Did everybody have a good February? I won a $25 voucher at a pub’s trivia night, moved house, and finished watching the final season of Red Dwarf. But the thing that we’re all here for is, of course, updates on what Too Many Teeth has been doing, so let’s get into that!

Progress on the yet-to-be-formally-announced game has made a good amount of progress. I mentioned in last month’s post that the script was going to undergo a bit of a rewrite and what will become the demo will be tightened up. Said script rewriting has been done, and the responses from initial playtesters have been positive. There are still some changes to be made based on new feedback, but they are much more minor in comparison with what had to be done before.

On the asset front, our sprite artist has done some more sketches for the game. In the interest of not revealing everything at once, here’s one for a character that hasn’t been seen yet. How mysterious!

Finally, we’ve also picked up a music composer for the game. We’ll be working with Cody Webberley, who you might recognise as the composer for The Many Deaths of Lily Kosen. Cody is an excellent musician and always creates exemplary work, so naturally we’re very pleased to be utilising his talents once again! We’ll be sharing some of the soundtrack in future posts as they’re worked on.

Work on the new game isn’t all that’s been done this month, however. Although it required a bit of (self-imposed) crunch time, we were able to put out an update for Artificial Nexus, raising its official release version to 1.1! If you haven’t seen the update on Steam, here’s a list of the changes:

  • Hints system: The game now offers hints in the pause menu, to assist you in getting through any puzzles that you’re stuck on. All of these hints will offer suggestions as to what you should try next, before culminating in giving you the answer to the puzzle, for when you’re well and truly stumped. Although some hints block corresponding achievements from being unlocked, the game will always warn you of this before revealing the answer, as well as warning you before revealing a puzzle’s solution is revealed.
  • New achievements: The game now has two additional achievements to unlock! If you’ve already played and beaten the game, you should be able to get these without too much issue.
  • Updated opening: The opening of the game has been updated to introduce the game’s mechanics to players a bit more gradually, rather than throwing too much at them at once. Again, if you’ve already played the game, this shouldn’t be an issue for you - this section can be gotten through in less than a minute if you know what you’re doing.
  • Easier endings: While the methods for unlocking the game’s different endings are the same as before, Susan will now hint at what the player can try during the ending section, making them a bit easier to complete.
  • New font: A new font has been added to assist those with dyslexia or low-vision issues.
  • Bug fix: An issue was discovered wherein searching certain terms in the game’s Knowledge Base in a particular order could cause the game to crash. This issue has now been fixed.

As always, if you discover any bugs or issues with the game, please let us know! We don’t want to have a faulty product or one which frustrates our players, and we’re happy to do what we can to improve things where possible!

That’s about it for this month - it might not look like much, but it’s somehow enough to take up twenty-eight days. Next month will likely have much less public-facing changes, as we focus on more work for the mysterious-untitled-strange-new game, but nevertheless, keep an eye on our socials just in case! As always, you can contact us via Discord or our contact page if there’s something that you desperately need to know or would like to let us know about. Peace!
